Maeve I'm enjoying the combination of invigorating mellowness this album has. It's chill yet moving. Favorite track: God-shaped Hole.

Lorelei Loveridge Tracy Chapman incarnate. Suzanne Vega is the comparison that drew from the lips of a friend. Rosanna Lea is a former bandmate of mine, and I have been a champion of her spiritual-joy driven, articulate musical musings since we worked together in Manchester, England a few years back. This new album has blown my mind with its 'gorgeosity', its timeliness in the face of international conflicts, erm, WARS that perplex thinking human beings. This music is salve for the soul. BUY IT. Favorite track: Hardship.

Another short-lived love affair Evaporates into thin air And you take up the same search again So get your headphone fix Throw some new things in the mix And pray you find a better friend What if these things are not the answer With all the questions they can bring What will help you find your way back home? And tell me how will you be dancing When there are no songs left to sing And all that’s left is just a God-shaped hole (A God-shaped hole) A-God shaped hole in all of us No matter where we place our trust The puzzle pieces just don’t fit, they never fit A God-shaped hole in you and me No matter who we try to be There’s always something that we miss Cos all this music that you're hearing, it’s only moving air So ask yourself just what it is that makes every little hair Stand up on the back of your neck, reality check! Are you connecting to that something that’s as high as you get? You could be climbing up the ladder while you waste time on the ground A God-shaped hole in all of us No matter where we place our trust ‘Cos He can give and take away And what remains? A God-shaped hole in everyone The struggle’s only just begun And I don’t know when I’ll be done... Cos we need something, we need meaning Chasing nothing, empty dreaming So much potential, hidden in you Ain’t tryin'a fill it with no magazine Ain’t tryin'a fill it with no big pipe dream Ain’t tryin'a fill it with no cigarette Ain’t tryin'a fill it with no tv set Ain’t tryin'a fill it with no glass of wine I ain’t tryin'a kill it with no overtime I try to fill a little day by day Put in to action all the words we say 'Cos we need something

Well the war won’t stop til a brother puts down his gun And a mother teaches justice to her son And tell me how, how can we make war of nations end If I still say hurtful things about my friends? And oh my brother, do you have the time? Sing out my sister, if you can answer this question of mine: Said isn’t it time, isn’t it time for peace to come? When most of mankind will say they’re still waiting for someone It’s been two thousand years since a poor Shepherd showed us how But all that I know is that we cannot give up now Cos we gotta try harder, and we gotta be stronger And we gotta love deeper, and we gotta sing louder Louder until peace comes Tell me why was I born in a clean hospital bed? When there’s babies got no rooves over their heads And tell me why, why was I given freedom for no fee? When there’s people lying in jail cells for their right to believe And isn’t it time, isn’t it time for peace to come? When all the world’s children sing along to the words of the same hit songs It’s been six thousand years since a man named Krishna, He did come And what have we learned? How to shoot automatic guns So we gotta try harder and we gotta be stronger And we gotta love deeper and we gotta sing louder I said I’m gonna try harder and I’m gonna be stronger And I’m gonna love deeper and I’m gonna sing louder Louder until peace comes And I know peace don’t come from presidents You gotta build it in your heart They call peace a cause but it’s an effect And it takes love to make it start So isn’t it time, isn’t it time for peace to come? So try harder, try harder, try harder And be stronger, be stronger, be stronger And love deeper, love deeper, deeper, people love deeper And sing louder, sing louder, sing louder, Louder until peace comes Until we don’t need no more peace songs I’m gonna sing my heart out, you can sing along Gonna sing louder until peace comes Louder until peace comes

Problems 03:55
Did you make your name, or was it the other way round? Did they lay the blame, or did you just pull yourself down? In all that I’ve found it seems like you’ve been hard-done by Throwing you around and you don’t even know why I know you got problems chasing your tail Teach yourself come-backs and learn how to fail Out with the boys now they’ll do you no good Fix all your problems, I wish that I could One moment you adore – a flash and you’re throwing harsh words You’re building up walls and crying when your hands get burned It seems we got a live one, sleeping with the lights on Choking on your words ‘cos you never know the right ones Stealing what you don’t need, hunger like a child’s greed Making all our hearts bleed I know you got problems chasing your tail Teach yourself come-backs and learn how to fail Out with the girls now and they think they’re so ‘hood Fix all your problems, I wish that I could She said ‘You’re lucky you can play guitar I don’t know what my talents are, I never got that far Takes all my energy just tryna act hard and thinking If my daddy loves me why I gotta live with grandpa then?’ After the teacher called me in and told me You were never coming back again My heart sank deep down ‘cos I’d lost a friend I’ll never know how your side of the story went I know you got problems chasing your tail Teach yourself come-backs and learn how to fail Out with the boys now they’ll do you no good Fix all your problems, I wish that I could Cos we’ll always have problems, that’s the way that life goes You can learn from them or let them take hold But you don’t have to listen when they say you’re no good Fix all your problems, I know that you could

Hardship 02:29
Yeah I know you’re going through hardship I pray to the Blessed Beauty that He never lets your heart slip The enemy he’s got a harsh grip But when it’s God that flips the script you’re well-equipped Spiritual battleship armed with friendship you never trip Like a child you skip along the path to peace until the scales tip They try to strip you of nobility, but they’re foolish see ‘Cos your purity streams from your lips See the end in the beginning, the beginning in the end In the enemy find a brother, in the stranger find a friend I never had to live those words quite like you do or my Faith defend But you inspire me to pick up a pen and write verses Though this is rehearsed it’s from the heart The world bursts, splits at the seams and falls apart But through long-suffering you’re building the whole thing anew I wanna tell the world ‘bout the struggle that you’re going through I know you’re going through hardship I pray to the Blessed Beauty that He never lets your heart slip The enemy he’s got a harsh grip But when it’s God that flips the script you’re well-equipped Spiritual battleship armed with friendship you never trip Like a child you skip along the path to peace until the scales tip They try to strip you of nobility, but they’re foolish see ‘Cos your purity streams from your lips Yo they can’t see that you’ve been free since you believed Only fooling themselves when they think you’re in captivity But love is the greatest weapon it refuses to fight Only knows how to bring us closer and to show us the light That guides in darkness when all you see is heartless cruelty Mirror forth His beauty and I know of a certainty That His Providence is disguised as calamity So after the crisis, there’ll always come a victory I know you’re going through hardship I pray to the Blessed Beauty that He never lets your heart slip The enemy he’s got a harsh grip But when it’s God that flips the script you’re well-equipped Spiritual battleship armed with friendship you never trip Like a child you skip along the path to peace until the scales tip They try to strip you of nobility, but they’re foolish see ‘Cos your purity streams from your lips I know, you’re going through…

O SON OF MAN! For everything there is a sign. The sign of love is fortitude under My decree and patience under My trials. (Bahá'u'lláh, The Hidden Words)
6.
O SON OF SPIRIT! I created thee rich, why dost thou bring thyself down to poverty? Noble I made thee, wherewith dost thou abase thyself? Out of the essence of knowledge I gave thee being, why seekest thou enlightenment from anyone beside Me? Out of the clay of love I molded thee, how dost thou busy thyself with another? Turn thy sight unto thyself, that thou mayest find Me standing within thee, mighty, powerful and self-subsisting. (Bahá'u'lláh, The Hidden Words)

In the Rose Garden of changeless splendor a Flower hath begun to bloom, compared to which every other flower is but a thorn ... Arise, therefore, and, with the whole enthusiasm of your hearts, with all the eagerness of your souls … strive to attain the paradise of His presence … Whoso followeth this counsel will break his chains asunder … will attain unto his heart's desire … (Bahá'u'lláh, Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh)
8.
Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving kindness for all who may cross your path. (‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks)
